Vetter arrested for Sanborn County burglaries

Alexander Vetter was arrested Jan. 27 in Yankton on a Sanborn County warrant on two counts of burglary in the third degree, according the the Sanborn County Sheriff’s office.
According to Sanborn County State’s Attorney Jeff Larson, Vetter, formerly of Woonsocket, is accused of breaking into a shop owned by Gloria Vetter of rural Woonsocket on two separate occasions. He allegedly took old and antique wooden airplanes from the shop, which is located on Gloria’s home place south of Woonsocket.
The burglaries took place on Oct. 17 and Nov. 29, 2016. Vetter was indicted on the two counts, both Class 5 felonies, by a Sanborn County Grand Jury and was set to make his first court appearance Tuesday, Jan. 31 in Woonsocket.
Vetter is being held in the Davison County Jail. A Class 5 felony is punishable by up to five years in the penitentiary.
