The four girls representing the SCW Blackhawks in the middle school division, pictured above, left to right, were: Teya Moody, Trinity Boschee, Trista White, and Brooke Doering.

On Saturday, March 3, the FCCLA of Wessington Springs put on a 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the Wessington Springs gym. There were several teams from Sanborn Central/Woonsocket who took part in the different age divisions of the tournament.

The eighth grade team representing the Lady Blackhawks brought home the championship in the middle school division. They lost one game, so they had to move up through the underdog’s bracket to get into the championship, and they had to beat the team from Huron twice to win. Perseverance paid off, and they brought home the championship trophy.
