Marvin Keith Jensen, 77, of North Platte, passed away May 24, at Stapleton, Neb.
Services were on Wednesday, May 30, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Robin Storer officiating. Burial is Thursday, May 31, at 3 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Marvin was born April 14, 1941, to Cornish and Dorothy (Brown) Jensen at Ellsworth, Kan. They moved to Woonsocket when he was three, where he attended school and graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1959.
Marvin married Michele Authier of Woonsocket where they lived until 1965, when they moved to California. He and his family lived in Simi Valley, California from 1965 to 1972, where he worked for Vangas Propane Company as a serviceman and route supervisor. He also attended Moorpark City College at night for business management and also completed a service correspondence course.
In 1972, Marvin and his family moved to Aberdeen, where he went to work for Northwestern Public Service Company in the service department. In 1974, he and his family transferred to North Platte, Neb., where he retired as construction foreman for Northwestern Public Service on Jan. 1, 2000.
Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being with his children and great grandchildren. His family was always top priority.
He is survived by: two sons, Jeffrey (Danine) of Sioux Falls and Clint (Jennifer) of North Platte; six grandchildren; one brother, Gary (Lynn) Jensen of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Betty (Roger) Blankenship of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Ada (Ciiff) Alt of Fresno, Calif.; six great-grandchildren; nine nephews and one niece.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Michele; his parents; brother, Maurice; grandparents and one nephew.
