PIERRE – Austin Schmit and Alex Wormstadt, Sanborn Central High School students, won first-prize in the recent 28th Annual Business Plan Competition for high school students. The competition is co-sponsored by the South Dakota Bankers Foundation and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The concept behind the Business Plan Competition is to take an idea for a business that could be started by a student and transfer it into a business plan.

The finalists, parents and advisors were invited to attend the South Dakota Bankers Association’s annual legislative reception on Feb. 7 to receive awards from Lt. Governor Matt Michels in recognition of their entrepreneurial efforts.
