As President Harry S. Truman once said, “Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude and America will never forget their sacrifices.”

On Friday, Feb. 2, a ceremony was held at the Prairie View Healthcare Community in Woonsocket to honor three local WWII veterans of Sanborn County. The presentation of a certificate of appreciation and a challenge coin was made by Sanborn County Veteran Service Officer Taylor Jans and Davison County Veteran Service Officer Craig Bennett. Those being honored were Bob Kappel, Keith Robbins and Don Ebersdorfer.
