Each quarter, Superintendent Rod Weber challenges the students at Woonsocket School to push themselves in the area of reading. Students who acquire 40 or more AR (Accelerated Reading) points in a quarter, are rewarded with a “treat” party with Mr. Weber and Mrs. Lieber.
During the second quarter of the 2017-2018 school year, a record 29 students reached this goal, as compared to 17 the first quarter. Although several of the students also were in attendance at the first quarter party, there were several newcomers as well, as depicted by the totals. Students from a variety of grade levels, the youngest being in third grade and the oldest being a senior, were represented.
There were also several students who were extremely close to the 40 point goal and are encouraged to continue to strive for that goal and beyond as we are well into the third quarter. Way to go, Woonsocket Students!
