On Tuesday, Feb. 6, the Blackhawks traveled to Highmore to dominate on the wrestling mats. What was to be a triangular became a quadrangular, but it didn’t stop the Blackhawks from having a clean sweep on the night.
They first wrestled the team from Lyman County and came out on top with a score of 49-18. Their next opponent for the evening was Miller/Highmore-Harrold and again the Blackhawks won with a score of 42-27. Their final match of the night was with Ipswich/Leola/Bowdle and the Blackhawks came home with their third victory with a score of 48-24.
On Friday, Feb. 9, the Blackhawks wrestlers traveled to Montrose for the McCook Central/Montrose Round Robin. They competed in four team duals and ended the night with two wins and two losses. First up they wrestled the Sisseton Redmen and took a loss with a final score of 17-54. Next, they met up with Warner/Northwestern and ended with a final score of 51-24, Blackhawks. Their third match on the night was against McCook Central/Montrose and ended with a loss and a final score of 9-65. Lastly, the Blackhawks ended the night with a win over the Marion/Freeman Rebels with a score of 42-21.
