Earl Waymond Moore, 84, of Colo, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019, at his home.
A celebration of Earl’s life will be 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, at the Twin Anchors Golf Course Club House in Colo, Iowa. There will also be a celebration of Earl’s life on Sunday, June 16, at 2:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Mitchell. It is located on 516 W. 15th Ave.
Earl was born Feb. 24, 1935, in Aurora to Walter and Esther (Wetzel) Moore. He graduated from Artesian High School.
On Nov. 9, 1957, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Ryan. Together they lived in Dundee, Iowa for a few years, then Geneva, Ill., and eventually settled in Colo, Iowa. They operated Twin Anchors Campground for 22 years, later adding Twin Anchors R.V. Sales & Service and Twin Anchors Golf Course. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing and animals. He also liked to travel and visit with people.
Earl is survived by his children, Lynn (Ken Mareck) Moore of Minneapolis, Minn., Lori Butler (Scott Lovrine) of Madison, Wis., and Donald (Bobby) Moore of Nevada, Iowa; his brother, Howard (Myrna) Moore of Mitchell; his sister-in-law, Raeburn Moore of Mitchell; his brother-in-law, Howard Bechen of Mitchell; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie; his brother Melvin Moore; and a sister, Marge Bechen.
