The “cream of the crop” was definitely represented at the Sanborn County Open Class Show on Aug. 10-12. Exhibits ranged from lighthouse lawn ornaments to peach/hot pepper jam to an elaborate detailed leather bax. A total of 24 area adults and youth showcased their amazing talent and skills. Tasked with the daunting responsibility of judging the many exhibits were Julie Bruckner and Kathy Torres. Helping to enter and display the many entries was Shana Jensen.
Adding a new twist to the open class competition this year was the addition of a third age division called “Work of Senior” for individuals 65 years of age or older. As in years past, entries judged “Best of Show” will be taken to the State Fair to be judged in the special “County Best of Show” category.
