The Sanborn Central Fuel Up to Play 60 campaign hosted its first “Family Fun Night” last Friday, Jan. 27, where over 75 students, parents, grandparents and community members joined in activities designed to encourage healthy eating and active lifestyles.
Activities included Twister, dancing, an obstacle course, nutringo and healthy snacks. This is Sanborn Central’s first year participating in the Fuel Up to Play 60 Campaign.
Sanborn Central seniors Maddie Vermeulen and Myah Selland have teamed up with the elementary students, staff and the NFL to initiate the Fuel Up to Play 60 program within Sanborn Central as part of their senior experience projects.
Fuel up to Play 60 is a school nutrition and physical activity program that promotes living active and healthy lifestyles. All 32 NFL teams are a part of Fuel Up To Play 60 program, and over 1,300 players have visited schools involved. There are nearly 73,000 schools involved across the country.
