Dresses, pajamas and used outfits! John Deere tractors, sheep, slime and ice skating! What do these things have in common? They were all part of the three 4-H events that happened on Monday, July 16, at the 4-H Grounds in Forestburg.

The Town ‘N Kountry Kids Red Crew 4-H Club met on July 18 at the Community Center in Woonsocket.

The meeting was called to order by President Nathan Linke. The Flag Pledge was led by Elisha Schultz, and the 4-H Pledge was led by Shiloh Senska. Roll call was led by Vice President Xavier Baysinger with the topic, “Favorite Animal,” which was answered by 27 members. New members Tati, Corey and Gigi Roberts were welcomed.  

The secretary’s report was read by Megan Linke and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given by Acaiya Schultz and approved as presented. 

Evan Ohlrogge reported on competing at the National 4-H Shoot. Luke Larson told about his participation in the CDM/Horticulture Judging Contest.  Megan gave a report on what she learned at Lamb Camp. Nathan told the club about Teen Leadership Camp and encouraged others to attend next year. Hope Baysinger reported on participating in Fashion Revue Contest.  Emily Ohlrogge and Sutton Senska shared about how they did in the Public Speaking Contest. 

For old business, the club needs to schedule their community service project at the nursing home for an evening.  

For new business, the members will have a 4-H Grounds work day on Monday, July 30, at 6:30 p.m. They talked about making sure they had projects in progress for Achievement Days. BBQ tickets were passed out to sell, and the group talked about the work schedule, Ag Olympics, the dance and the exhibit schedule. They discussed whether the club should plan on a fun activity now or after the State Fair and decided on the latter.

Cloverbud members made chocolate chip cookies with Leader Lisa Snedeker.

Following the meeting, 4-H members played games.

The Town ‘N Kountry Kids 4-H Club Blue Group met on Friday, July 6, at the 4-H building in Forestburg. The meeting was called to order by President Brady Larson. Pledges were led by Teagen Moody and Miley Adams.  Secretary’s report was read by Payton Uecker, and it was approved as read. Bryce Larson and Stacy Zoss gave the treasurer’s report. There are a few bills that need to be paid. Payton made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report, seconded by Toby. 

Old Business: Members Cole Wilson, Teagen Moody, Delaney Zoss, Riley Kneen, Cannon Zoss, and Caleb Kneen all gave reports on 4-H camp. Bryce Larson gave a report on lamb camp. Brady Larson gave a report on the park celebration. Bird houses were given to the club and the following members will help pass them out to nursing homes and assisted livings in the area: Payton Uecker, Kenzie Uecker, Kelly Wilson, Memphis Moody, Sophie Kelly, and Brooklyn Larson. Flags- Riley Zoss bought one US flag and ordered more US and 4-H flags for the 4-H building. The ones he ordered will be here in August.

New Business: State Fair Books were handed out to members that have not received them yet. 

Talent Show/Pie Social: Sandi Ruml asked if the club would be willing to have a few members help pass out pie at this event. Janet made a motion to have a few kids help with the event, and Teagen seconded the motion.

Upcoming Events: July 16 at 1 p.m. is Fashion Review, 4 p.m. is Public Speaking. There is also a judging school during these events. Achievement Days will be Aug. 9-11.

Club T-shirts: Paula is putting in another order for club t-shirts. Janet is taking names of kids who need them. 

Brady Larson adjourned the meeting.
