Letcher

Youth groups from four area churches traveled together to Sioux Falls to serve an evening meal at The Banquet. They worked together with a number of adults who went with them along with the staff at The Banquet. The churches represented were St. Wilfrid Catholic Church, Spirit of Faith Lutheran-Methodist Church, Letcher Community Church and Storla-Trinity Lutheran Church.

Four Sanborn County church groups joined together to kick off the Advent season with a service event. Youth groups from Storla-Trinity Lutheran Church, Spirit of Faith Lutheran-Methodist Church, St. Wilfrid Catholic Church, and the Letcher UCC Church, along with many adult leaders and parent volunteers, traveled to Sioux Falls this past week to serve a warm meal at The Banquet in Sioux Falls. This incredible group of 43 kids with 21 adults served suppers to 393 people, 55 of them children. The meal included 21 gallons of milk. Those receiving the meal were very appreciative, and the groups were just as appreciative for the opportunity to serve.

A first birthday party was held Sunday at the Sportsman’s Club in Mitchell hosted by Jamie’s parents Haley Ruml and Colby Talcott. Guests were Jamie’s grandparents Sara and Curtis Adams of Letcher, Carl Talcott of Lincoln, Neb.,  Carrie and Scott Groepper of Mitchell, great-grandparents Ron and Sandi Ruml of Letcher, aunts Chloe, Miley, Kaylee and Whitney Adams, uncles Camden and Quentin Groepper, great uncles and aunts. and cousins, Stacy Ruml of Artesian, Steven, Liz and Leighton Ruml of Sioux Falls, Shanna and Tim Moke, Camden, Olivia and Brielle of Dell Rapids, Shawn, Kelsey, Lauren and London Ruml of Mitchell and MaryAnn Hetland of Mitchell, Jay Smith of Alexandria and Natalie Ann Witte and Preston of Sioux Falls.

Hegg Insurance of Woonsocket, along with Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Lincoln County, announce Madi Moody of Letcher as the recipient of the $500 SDAMIC educational scholarship. She is one of four recipients whose parents are insured with an SDAMIC insurance company.  Madi’s parents are Perry and Tracy Moody.
