Mark Maneke

Kalamazoo, Mich.

Mark Maneke, 50, of Kalamazoo, Mich., died Saturday Jan. 6, 2018.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 11, at the Betzler Life Story Funeral Home in Kalamazoo, with burial at Alamo Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be on Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 5-8 p.m., also at the funeral home.

Mark Maneke was born July 7, 1967, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Douglas and Trena (Oudekert) Maneke. Raised in Parchment, he attended local schools. He earned his GED from Kalamazoo Central School.

Mark and Carmen were married Aug. 30, 1997, in Hill City. Shortly after their marriage, Mark curtailed his drinking and became sober. His life experiences and his being a social and outgoing person made him a great mentor to others facing the same struggles. He survived a heart attack at the age of 46, but always maintained a positive outlook.

Mark loved cars and motorcycles and was a huge fan of NASCAR. He enjoyed baseball and a wide array of music from rap to classic rock. He was deeply devoted to family.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen; two sisters, Lisa (Mark) Snedeker and Jodi (Derek) Nestich; brother, Todd Maneke; mother, Trena Allan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas.

Patti Knigge

Patti Knigge, 78, of Woonsocket, died Sunday, Jan. 7, at Prairie View Healthcare Community in Woonsocket.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m., at the Basham Funeral Chapel in Woonsocket with Pastor Rhonda Wellsandt-Zell officiating. Burial will be in St. Wilfrid Catholic Cemetery in Woonsocket.

Jami Waldner

Huron

Jami Lee Waldner, 41, of Huron, passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at her home.
A Celebration of Life service was held Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the Huron Christian Church in Huron. Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 26, from 6-8 p.m., at the Kuhler Funeral Home in Huron,
Jami was born June 17, 1976, to Ike and Cindy Waldner in Long Beach, Calif. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1994, and then earned her nursing degree from Huron University. She cared for patients at the Tschetter-Hohm Clinic.
On Jan. 4, 2014, Jami was married to Chris Waldner. They spent time fishing and vacationing with their two children.
Jami enjoyed spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors, crafting, traveling to new places and making great food with family and friends. Her faith in God was strong, and she guided her children and led by example to teach them the love of the Lord.
Jami is survived by her husband, Chris Waldner; her children, Logan and Grace; her parents, Ike and Cindy Waldner; her paternal grandmother, Rebecca Waldner; numerous extended family members; and her fur babies, Finn and Buddy.
