The three swan babies have grown to nearly full size over the summer, making it time for them to fly the coop, so to speak.
Sometime next week, one of the young ‘uns will be sold and the other two will be traded for a new male.
Hopefully the lone adult female and the new male will hit it off and mate so we have new babies next spring. The female suffered the loss of her old mate this past summer, when he fell ill with an unknown disease and died.
But, for now the single parent swan family is enjoying the serenity of these warm fall days, feeding and swimming in the lake.
