Lilly Hoxsie, 85, of Woonsocket, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 11, 2012 in the Sunquest Health Care Center, Huron.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 in the First United Methodist Church, Huron, with Rev. Derek Baum officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Woonsocket. Friends may call at the Basham Funeral Home in Woonsocket Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. with the family present at this time.
Lilly was born on Nov. 10, 1927 in Chambers, Neb. to Clarence and Daisy (Palmer) Gumb.
She was united in marriage to Delbert Hoxsie on Oct. 9, 1946. The family moved to South Dakota in 1957. Lilly ran an in-home daycare for many years.
She is survived by three children, Darrel Hoxsie of Sioux City, Iowa, Linda (Rich) Mees of Alpena and Cheryl (Don) Smith of Woonsocket; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Dunkel of Valentine, Neb., Wilde Studebaker of Burwell, Neb. and Ilene Hulinsky of Broken Bow, Neb.; two brothers, Ray Gumb of Burwell, Neb. and Bill Gumb of Sargent, Neb..
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Delbert; infant daughter, Bonnie; one son, Charles; a daughter-in-law, Ruby Hoxsie; two sisters and one brother.
