Sanborn County 4-H celebrated National 4-H Week at Woonsocket School during the week of Oct. 7-13 with the theme “Join the Revolution of Responsibility…4-H.”
4-H members from the Town n’ Kountry Kids 4-H Club and the TL Rangers 4-H Club made and put up posters about 4-H around the school and community and asked all to wear the 4-H color green on Thursday to celebrate 4-H. In the elementary classrooms, 4-H members shared what they enjoyed and learned in 4-H. Students in grades 4-6 each received a 4-H pencil and lollipop, while students in K-3 received a lollipop and a 4-H activity sheet to complete, with the promise of a 4-H surprise to be given to all those who completed them. Anyone wearing green received a treat of green tootsie rolls. The elementary classes were presented with a 4-H football and soccer ball to use for recess.
4-H is a strong youth program with project areas to interest all, while teaching the pillars of Character Counts! Sanborn County currently has 80+ active members and the new 4-H year begins this month. If you are interested in joining 4-H, please contact the 4-H office at 605-796-4380 for more information.
