Friday evening the District 6 American Legion Auxiliary Fall meeting was held in the courthouse at Wessington Srings.
District 6 President Theresa Maeschen and State President Barb Vetter introduced Myah Selland,who was the winnner of the National Legion Auxillary Americanism Essay contest. Myah’s entry previously had won first place at the local Letcher unit, the District and State contest and was sent on to the National for Class III of the Americanism Essay contest.
Myah recieved $50 cash and will also recieve a scholorship award. She is the daughter of Brett and Kelly Selland and attends Sanborn Central school.
Edith Moe and Shirley Ruml were present from the Letcher unit.
