The Woonsocket School board recently approved the proposal from last spring that shifts the collection of taxes from the capital outlay and special education funds to the general fund.
The school approved the mill levy with decreases in two areas – $2.50 to $2.00 in capital outlay and $1.40 to $1.00 in special education. This would even out and ease the tax burden from last spring’s approved opt-out increase of $100,000 ($250,000 total).
