Firemen training drill held Saturday

Volunteer firemen from the T&C Fire Department in Woonsocket and the Artesian and Mt. Vernon fire departments took part in a training exercise Saturday as part of a required fire school.
Trainees spent the day Saturday performing mock fire and rescue drills with four salvage vehicles donated by S&S Paint, Repair & Salvage at Forestburg.
A number of mock emergency scenarios were played out and to round out the days training the vehicles were burned.
In order to complete the fire training, trainees have to complete 180 hours of classroom and hands-on training.
