Selland commits to Augustana

SHELBY SELLAND goes up for a lay-up in an earlier season game versus Kimball/White Lake.

In the same week that she scored her 1,000th point, Shelby Selland, junior at Sanborn Central, also verbally committed to play basketball at NCAA D-II Augustana College.
The 6’2” center is averaging 17 points per game and eight rebounds and is the first SC/W player to be recruited into college since the co-op began in 2011.
Her outstanding performance throughout the year has helped lead the Blackhawks to a 19-1 record and the number one seed in the District 9B Tournament.
Her strong play at post also helped lead her team to a 2012 fourth place finish in the State B Tournament, along with 281 Conference titles the last two years.
Selland chose Augustana over the University of Sioux Falls and Northern State University. She is the daughter of Brett and Kelly Selland of Letcher.
