Boys fall in Districts to tough W-W team

The Blackhawk boys’ very successful season came to an abrupt halt last Tuesday night when they fell to Wolsey-Wessington, 51-61, in District basketball play.
District 6B was stacked this season with three of the top teams in the state, SCW (17-4), Wolsey-Wessington (17-5) and the District Champs, James Valley Christian (21-1).
Tyler Krueger led the Blackhawks with 13 points and five rebounds, in this final game of his career. Davion Brooks, also a senior, finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Brady Tiede grabbed five rebounds.
The Blackhawks had 27 total rebounds and they shot 20-of-53 from the field.
The Warbirds were led by Lorenzo Williams with 23 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Ryne Johnson and Bennett White each had 11 points, while Alex Babcock had 10 boards.
Wolsey-Wessington shot 23-of-54 from the field.
The Warbirds went on to fall to JVC in the District Championship Thursday night.
