Casey Petersen and Joe Hjelm announced their engagement on Sept. 13, 2013.
Parents of the couple are Ryan and Lori Petersen of Lake Preston and Paul and Jeannie Hjelm of Woonsocket.
Peterson graduated from Lake Preston High School in 2010 and from Dakota State University in 2012 with an associate degree in general studies.
Hjelm graduated from Woonsocket High School in 2007 and from Mitchell Technical Istitute in 2009 with an ag chemical technology degree.
An Aug. 16 wedding is planned in  First Lutheran Church,  Mitchell.
