Blackhawks remain undefeated, No. 1 in the state

WWSSC gearing up to battle No. 2 team Friday night

Tucker Kingsbury threw for four touchdowns and 240 yards to take down Kimball/White Lake 40-14 Friday night in White Lake.
Kingsbury was nine-for-14 as he found three different receivers in the end zone.
Dillon Moore put up the first points of the night with a 65-yard catch in the second quarter. Logun Feistner topped off the score with a conversion catch.
Kingsbury then hit senior Brady Tiede for a 30-yard touchdown catch.
That’s when Sanborn Central senior Josh Feiner started his clinic, scoring three unanswered touchdowns in a row.
Feiner caught the third TD of the second quarter on a 17-yard score, followed by another Moore reception for the extra two points.
Feiner came back in the third quarter scoring on two drives with a 62-yard catch and a 12-yard run.
Trinity Brunsen marked his name in the books with the Blackhawks’ final score on a 16-yard run in the fourth quarter to put the Hawks up 40-0.
The WiLdKats were allowed two scores in the final quarter to get on the board.
KWL’s Ty Namanny caught a three-yard pass from Dylan Mohnen, followed by a good PAT on a Mohnen pass to Tanner Blasius. Blasius ran in the final score of the night from 13 yards out.
The Hawks racked up 371 yards on offense. KWL ran 47 times for 192 yards, with Corbin Heath shouldering most of the weight with 105 yards.
Jacob Fouberg led the Hawks defense with 10 tackles. Moore grabbed an interception.
WWSSC improved to 6-0 as they prepare to tackle what may be their most formidable opponent yet this season.
The Blackhawks will host 7-0 Wolsey-Wessington Friday night in Woonsocket. The Warbirds are last year’s Class 9A Champions and have shut out four of their seven opponents.
Wolsey-Wessington moved up a class this year so are now seeded first in Class 9AA Region 3, with 44.857 seed points. WWSSC has 43.5 seed points, according to the SD High School Athletics Association.
The SD Sportswriters Association has more faith in the Blackhawks, holding them in first place in the class, with seven first place votes and 42 power points. W-W is still camping out in second place with two first place votes and 36 power points.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. sharp in Woonsocket. The Woonsocket Boosters are serving a tailgate party beginning at 6 p.m.
