Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Ebersdorfer presiding. Other members present were: S. Larson, Ohlrogge, Blindauer, and P. Larson. Also present was Auditor Larson. Auditor Larson said the November 3 minutes should have read $25.00 per year for longevity pay. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Ohlrogge, to accept the minutes as corrected. All ayes. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY: Lee Goergen, Highway Superintendent/Weed Supervisor, and Sheri Kogel, Administrative Assistant, reported that the five-year plan has been approved. The highway department machinery operators joined the meeting to discuss wages and benefits. Research will be done and a decision made by December 15.
AMBULANCE: Jim Van Den Hemel, Sanborn County Ambulance, related to the board that Sanborn County Ambulance is sponsoring an EMT course. Several county residents plus a few from out of county will be taking the course, which will cost $4,000. The cost will be prorated to each participant. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by Blindauer, to pay the Sanborn County residents’ share, plus their book costs if they pass the course and will serve on the ambulance roster. All ayes. Motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: 10:50 a.m. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by S. Larson, to enter into executive session to discuss personnel. All ayes. Motion carried. Chairman Ebersdorfer declared an end to executive session at 11:15 a.m.
PRISONER CARE CONTRACT: A contract with Minnehaha County for prisoner care was reviewed. At the present time there are not any beds for rent. Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to enter into contract with the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office for prisoner care commencing the 1st day of November, 2015 and ending the 31st day of October 2016 at a cost of $92.27 per inmate per day. All ayes. Motion carried.
TRANSFER FUNDS: Motion by P. Larson, seconded by S. Larson, to transfer $650.00 from General Fund to 24/7 Sobriety fund. All ayes. Motion carried.
