The Blackhawks girls volleyball team moved on to Region play following wins against Wessington Springs on Thursday, Nov. 5 and James Valley Christian Friday, Nov. 6.
Myah Selland led SCW in the shut out against Wessington Springs in semi-final action on Thursday with 15 kills and three blocks, while Tayla Weber had seven kills, 12 digs and two blocks for the win. Bailey Moody contributed 17 digs and 26 assists, and Kayla Olson and Tristan Ziebart each had two aces.
Maddie Gran led the way for the Spartans with seven kills.
In the championship battle the following night, the Lady Hawks got fired up following an opening 5-25 loss in the first set to James Valley Christian and won the last three sets 25-19, 26-24 and 25-20.
Myah Selland again led the charge for SCW with 21 big kills and four blocks in the win. Tayla Weber added nine kills and also had two aces, while Bailey Moody contributed 31 assists from her setter position.
Khiree Held had 11 kills and seven aces, and Lauren Rink contributed six kills and an ace in the loss for the Lady Vikings.
The Blackhawks  (17-10) were scheduled to play Arlington Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Forestburg for the Region 3B Championship title and the right to go to the State Tourney in Sioux Falls Nov. 19-20.
