Betty L. Chada, 86, of Sutherland, Neb. and formerly of Brule, Neb., died Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the Sutherland Care Center.
Visitation was Monday, June 13, at the Draucker Funeral Home. Funeral services were Tuesday, June 14, at 10 a.m. in the Brule United Church of Christ, Congregational with the Revs. Lisa Hadler and Phil Ewert officiating. Betty was born May 22, 1930, at Haxtun, Colo., the daughter of John F. and Faith O. (Thompson) Holper. Betty received her education at Haxtun Public Schools, graduating from Haxtun High School in 1948.
Betty was united in marriage to David Mathew Chada on Feb. 5, 1949, at Paoli, Colo. The couple resided at Brule, Neb. David was a brick mason, and Betty was a homemaker and raised their family of five sons.
She was a member of the Congregational Church of Brule and a member of the Women’s Fellowship. Betty’s hobbies included doing crafts, sewing and quilting.
She is survived by her husband, David M. Chada of Sutherland; her sons, David J. (Nancy) Chada of Rapid City, John L. (Vicki) Chada of Wichita, Kan., Ronald M. (Rhonda) Chada of North Platte, Neb., Bill R. (Dodie Schlueter) Chada of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mark J. (Amanda) Chada of Letcher, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by her parents.
A memorial has been established to the Brule United Church of Christ, Congregational.
