Huron men break into businesses, arrested after setting off alarm

Two men were arrested in Woonsocket early Wednesday morning, Aug. 17, after allegedly breaking into two businesses and a resident’s garage, making off with goods and money.
Blake Dorris and Russell Bau, both 20, of Huron, were arrested at about 4 a.m. Wednesday morning, after kicking in a door at Skeeter’s N40 convenience store, and breaking a window and stealing items at M-T Corner, three miles east of Woonsocket.
Dorris and Bau broke the door jam at the N40, setting off the alarm. When the alarm was activated, the store’s owners drove to the scene to find out what happened, and while in the neighborhood, saw a suspicious vehicle and followed it. Sanborn County Deputy Jason Coenen responded to the incident and arrested Dorris and Bau, who were driving the vehicle.
The Sanborn County Sheriff’s office says that 98 percent of the stolen goods have been recovered and returned to their owners. Among the items were tools, which were linked to another break-in in Beadle County. The tools were returned to their owner, whose shop had been burglarized near Cavour.
Dorris and Bau were taken to the Beadle County Jail on a $2,500 bond. Their first court appearance is scheduled for September.
