Modern Woodmen Representative Stacey Malde presents Rod Weber with a $1,250 check for matching funds from their Family Fun Day fundraiser to raise money for the Woonsocket Community Center Theatre addition.

Modern Woodmen of America members in the Woonsocket area recently helped raise money for the Woonsocket Development Corporation with a special fundraising event on Feb. 28.
The event, Family Fun Day, raised $2,908.50. This includes $1,250 matched by Modern Woodmen through the organization’s Matching Fund Program. The funds will be used for a theater addition to the Woonsocket Community Center.
The Matching Fund Program offers Modern Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need by holding fundraisers. These fundraising projects contribute $10 million to community needs across the country each year.
“This community always shows great support where there is a need,” says Stacey Malde, local Modern Woodmen volunteer leader.  “The Community Center Theatre addition will provide a long term benefit for many groups in Woonsocket.”
