Well, with fall comes school and school activities. The WEPC’s $1 Serves fundraiser was a success and pays for the prizes and treats for the Halloween Carnival that the sixth graders put on for the whole elementary.
In November, the WEPC is celebrating American Education Week, Nov. 14-18. The theme this year is “Celebrating an All-American Education,” which should coincide nicely with the Presidential Election taking place this year, and with the dates being so close to Veterans Day, along with the deployment of the 153rd National Guard Unit from Huron. The theme breaks down as follows:
Monday – Be All You Can Be at Woonsocket Elementary! A small gift to tie into this day’s theme will be given to each student.
Tuesday – All American Family Night – There will be a family fun night again this year in the gym, with activities and prizes, and fun for the whole family!
Wednesday – Red, White, and Blue Readers – Guest readers will come to every classroom to read to the kids in Pre-K to sixth grade.  The kids will also be asked to wear red, white and blue this day.  If you are interested in being a guest reader, please contact Carrie Howard.
Thursday – Learning: One small step for you, one giant step for our community! – The WEPC will be handing out a cute and tasty treat to go with this theme.
Friday – Presidential Spell-a-thon – Please consider making a pledge to help sponsor your student to encourage them to do well on their test and to show your support for their education.
If you have any more ideas for American Education Week or for anything else for the WEPC, please contact Carrie Howard at 770-8997 or contact any WEPC member.
