Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA members participated in the District 4 FFA Leadership Development Events held at Mitchell Technical Institute on Nov. 14. The Junior Parliamentary Procedure Team (a.k.a. – Conduct of Meetings) placed second at the event and earned a spot to advance on to the State Leadership Event held Dec. 4-5. At the District 4 Leadership Event, Aaron Linke finished out his term as 2015-2016 District 4 Reporter and saw Nathan Linke selected to serve as the 2016-2017 District 4 FFA Vice President. Below is a detailed list of individual and team placings, along with what members comprised the teams:
Junior Parliamentary Procedure (President – Katie Schmit, Vice President – Samantha Dean, Secretary – Josie Weber, Treasurer – Cayden Slykhuis, Reporter – Noah Dickson, Sentinel – Taryn Ziebart, Student Advisor – Carter Linke), second place;
Senior Parliamentary Procedure (President- Aaron Linke, Vice President – Trent Kingsbury, Secretary – Nathan Linke, Treasurer – Garrett Dean, Reporter – Catherine Bechen, Sentinel – Trevor Olson, Student Advisor – Sarah Morgan), third place;
Ag Issues (Kyla Morgan, Shaun Snedeker, Callie Bezpaletz, Bailey Schmiedt, Jared Goldammer, and Abby Vermeulen), fourth place;
Ag Broadcasting, Madi Moody, fifth place;
Extemporaneous Speaking, Sawyer Senska, sixth place;
Prepared Public Speaking, Austin Schmit, seventh place;
Creed Speaking, Megan Linke and Wesley Linke, seventh and eighth place respectively.
At State Leadership, the Junior Parliamentary Procedure team placed sixth, a mere 20 points behind Lemmon (fifth), and 22 points behind Deubrook (fourth).
