Abby Doering led the Lady Blackhawks with 16 points and 14 rebounds, to a 67-51 victory over Sunshine Bible Academy during the basketball double header on Saturday, Dec. 9. She was helped by Tesa Jensen with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tristan Ziebart added 13 points with eight assists and four steals. Megan Poyer had seven points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Sarah Morgan came through with seven points and four assists, and Madi Moody threw in six points.
SBA was led by Susan Wilken with 19 points and her sister Lindsey Wilken, who added 17 points.
On the boys’ side of play, four players reached double figures in points to lead the SCW Blackhawks to a 79-39 win over the Crusaders. Trey Weber led in scoring with 19 points, and Trent Kingsbury followed with 13. Kingsbury also contributed ten assists with five steals and five rebounds, while Weber added eight assists and five rebounds. Jared Goldammer scored 15 points and 11 rebounds. Devon Weber put in 11 points.
The Crusaders were led by Jade Burma with 18 points and 12 rebounds, along with Ross Engle who added 11 points.
The Lady Blackhawks don’t see action again until Dec. 19 when the boys and girls have a doubleheader at Sanborn Central with Mt. Vernon/Plankinton. However, the boys have their next game this Thursday night, Dec. 14, in Woonsocket against the Tripp-Delmont/Armour Nighthawks.
