A group of miniature Blackhawk cheerleaders showed off their spirit and their moves during halftime of the girls basketball game Monday night in Forestburg.
The girls pepped up a record-sized crowd, who had shown up for the heavily-hyped No. 1 vs. No. 2 girls game, along with a huge number of community members in support of fundraisers held for a little girl fighting cancer.
Paisley King, 6-month-old daughter of Brooke and Steven King of Letcher, was recently diagnosed with liver cancer and has been undergoing treatment in Sioux Falls.
Community members and local 4-H clubs held a number of fundraisers for King and her family throughout the evening, including a baked potato bar, bake sale, “chuck a duck” contest and more. Also in support of Paisley’s fight, much of the home crowd wore green, which is the color of liver cancer awareness.
