The Sanborn County Courthouse had their annual Holiday Open House on Friday, Dec. 15.
The Community Choir sang a few Christmas carols, including some from this year’s cantata they performed in November. Santa came to visit with any children who were willing to talk with him about what they wanted for Christmas, and there were many beautiful trees on display from countywide businesses throughout the courthouse on all three floors. The county employees also put together a scavenger hunt for anyone who was interested in a fun way to take the tour of trees.
In addition to all the entertainment, there were treats, punch and coffee served for those in attendance, and Santa and his helpers handed out candy-filled candy canes to all the children who ventured in.
The trees will be on display at the courthouse through the New Year holiday. The courthouse is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but they will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
