William D. (Dennis) Boock, 67, of Hot Springs, passed away in a car accident on Highway 79 on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Friday, Dec. 30, at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial was on Monday, Jan. 2, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Dennis was born April 30, 1949, in Pipestone, Minn. He was the fourth child of Alice Mae (Knee) and William (Bill) Boock. Dennis graduated from Artesian High School in 1967. He joined the U.S. Army and proudly served in Germany and Vietnam from 1967-1970. After returning home, he served for many years in the South Dakota National Guard in Mitchell. Dennis graduated from Mitchell VoTech in 1977 as a power lineman.
He married Mary Ann Endres on April 27, 1973, in Dimock, and lived in Mitchell. They were blessed with two sons. The family moved to Rapid City in 1981, where Dennis worked on power lines for several years. Dennis later became a truck driver and enjoyed taking his family with him to see the country. In 2001, Dennis and Mary moved to Angustora Lake, where the family had spent most of their summers since moving to Rapid City.
Dennis was a great slalom skier and loved to play with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Mike (Kristi) and Brian (Summer); his five grandchildren; his brother, Alvin; and his sisters, Mary and Linda.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann.
