The Letcher Community Church held Bible School May 20-23 from 5:30-8:15 p.m. Each evening started with opening worship and theme songs led by Jessica White. The kitchen staff served approximately 80 meals to students, teachers, and helpers. Classes, recreation, and activities were held in grade level groups ranging from preschool to eighth grade. The event ended with a program at the church Wednesday evening.

About 100 people attended the Letcher American Legion Memorial Day program Monday. The speaker was Myron Sonne who as always had a great message. Buckshots provided the caramel rolls that were served after the program.
Special awards were presented by Auxiliary President Sandi Ruml to Melanie Ettswold for her years of dedication to the community and Fire Department. The Legion Auxiliary obtained charter in April 1953, so 65 year awards and flowers were given to the only original charter members left, Mary Ann Blindauer, Lois Evers and Sally Olson. One other founding member was unable to come and that is Dolores Stach of Wesley Acres in Mitchell. These ladies have been such wonderful supporters of the Legion and its programs.

Santel Communications announces the appointment of Randy Northrup. Northrup notes, “I’m excited to be back home working as the Sales and Marketing Manager at Santel. My first sales and marketing experience off the family farm was during a summer while attending SDSU. I traveled to Florida selling educational books door-to-door. I called it “The School of Hard Knocks,” tough learning curve, yet I met some of the most amazing people and in the end, I had a profitable, memorable summer.”
Northrup’s most recent experience has been successfully starting, growing, and managing motorcycle and auto racing brands. These highly competitive industries have provided Randy with the experiences and processes that are a good fit for Santel. In the motorsports business he worked with both small business owners and large corporations, plus consumers in all walks in life, all with a goal to deliver our patrons the right products at a competitive
price.
