LeRoy DeWaard, 79, of Forestburg died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Prairie View Healthcare Community in Woonsocket.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Harrison Community Church in Harrison, with memorial services to follow. Burial will be at the Harrison Cemetery.
LeRoy DeWaard, son of Charles and Lena DeWaard, was born July 27, 1939, in Stickney.
LeRoy was united in marriage to Karen Mogck on Dec. 6, 1995, in Guntersville, Ala.
LeRoy was employed as a welder, machinist, traveling salesman and counter salesman. He worked for Hubers Machine Shop, that he later owned and operated, Baum Iron, Precision Industries and Mitchell Iron. He retired in 2008 after 50 years of working.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Paul DeWaard, Pam (Todd) Harris, Doug (Angel) DeWaard; two step-sons, Keith (DeLinda) Cain and Kevin Cain; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark DeWaard; his parents; a step-grandson, Cory; four brothers, John, Leonard, Randy and Charles “Jun” DeWaard; and a sister, Ann Kok.
