On Thursday and Friday, May 17 and 18, Teya Moody, Trey Moody, Tryce Slykhuis, and Mason Moody all competed in the Junior High Rodeo Regional competition to earn a chance to compete at the state level. They all performed well, but Mason Moody was the only one of the four who earned a chance to compete at the South Dakota State Junior High Rodeo Finals, which were held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 18-20. The regional competition was originally supposed to take place in Huron on the weekend in April that a terrible blizzard hit the area, so it was rescheduled to the two days before the state competition.
