Mark Maneke was born July 7, 1967, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Douglas and Trena (Oudekert) Maneke. Raised in Parchment, he attended local schools. He earned his GED from Kalamazoo Central School.
Mark and Carmen were married Aug. 30, 1997, in Hill City. Shortly after their marriage, Mark curtailed his drinking and became sober. His life experiences and his being a social and outgoing person made him a great mentor to others facing the same struggles. He survived a heart attack at the age of 46, but always maintained a positive outlook.
Mark loved cars and motorcycles and was a huge fan of NASCAR. He enjoyed baseball and a wide array of music from rap to classic rock. He was deeply devoted to family.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; two sisters, Lisa (Mark) Snedeker and Jodi (Derek) Nestich; brother, Todd Maneke; mother, Trena Allan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas.
