Spring baseball programs have started to thrive over the past few years in different communities all over the state. Several of the larger communities and school districts have had a spring baseball program for years, but spring baseball has started to sprout in smaller schools and communities as well, and Blackhawks baseball has finally found its start for the boys in our area with youth from Woonsocket, Wessington Springs, and Sanborn Central.
There are 33 boys signed up from grades seven through 12 with some from all three schools. There are enough boys from the different age groups for the Blackhawks to field a junior varsity and a varsity team. Some players will be involved with either track or golf at the same time they are on the baseball team, but the schedules shouldn’t have any conflicts.
