
The SCW Blackhawks presented flowers and threw pink mini volleyballs to fans during the starting lineup for their Dig Pink night at Sanborn Central on Tuesday, Oct. 29. Every year, they wear pink jerseys for at least one game to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the SCW Lady Blackhawks hosted a Dig Pink Night at their last home volleyball game on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Sanborn Central. Kaylee White spearheaded the organization of the event as her senior project. There was a silent auction, bake sale and chuck-a-duck. They also had a pink and white volleyball signed by all the volleyball players that was sold at a live auction with local auctioneer, Justin Dean, taking bids. All proceeds went to the Heart and Sole Cancer Walk and the Relay for Life.
