Last week, the Blackhawks volleyball team put in some valuable time at the Woonsocket Gym. They hosted the Gold Medal Squared Volleyball Camp, which is a camp they have had in the past that has been very beneficial for the players individually and as a team.
This year’s guest coaches who put on the camp were Katie Walker as lead coach and Savannah Cox. Walker is from Washington and played volleyball at Idaho State. She has coached at Middle Tennessee, Washington, Notre Dame and is currently at Drake University in Iowa. Cox is from North Carolina and played volleyball there. She is currently the assistant coach at the South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City. While in town, both ladies stayed in the apartment above Hegg Insurance.
According to Blackhawks’ Head Coach Dayna Rodriguez, “The girls worked hard all week, and the coaches really enjoyed working with our girls and had awesome things to say about them.”
