During the evenings last week, the Spirit of Faith Lutheran-Methodist Church conducted Vacation Bible School for elementary school and pre-school kids. The theme for this year’s event was to serve, love, shine, grow and pray wherever you go. They chose one of those words for each day’s theme and lessons.
They each made their own candle to shine. To serve, they prepared health kits to send to those in need through the Methodist Conference. To learn about growing, they planted moss roses on the east side of the church. They talked about how God is love and doing service projects shows love from us to others, and they discussed the power of prayer each day the whole week.
They also had activities outside and listened to stories along with creating crafts for each of them to take home for themselves. It was a fun-filled week providing lessons to many of our community’s children along with boys and girls visiting relatives so they could join in the fun.
