The Sanborn Central Middle School student council, under the direction of Mrs. Vermeulen, sponsored a Kindness Week from Feb. 16-19. Each student council member chose one elementary grade to facilitate kindness activities with. The SC middle school students who participated were: Bryce Larson, Caleb Kneen, Morgan Hoffman, Aubrey Kropp, Clay Moody, Cami Edwards, Hudson Fouberg, and Miley Adams. Reading of a children’s novel, art projects, discussions, and worksheets were a few of the activities students in grades PreK through fifth grade completed.
A bulletin board was located in the hallway for MS/HS students to display kindness quotes such as “Kindness is caring for others even when they may not care for you.”
An Appreciation Station was also located in the hallway. Students and staff had the opportunity to write kindness and thank you notes for someone in the building. These notes were then dispersed.
One of the books which was read to classes was “The Jelly Doughnut Difference.” In order to correspond with the theme of the book, PreK-12 grade students and staff were treated to mini doughnuts on Friday afternoon.
