On Wednesday, Sept. 28, the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket cross country team competed in the Colman/Egan cross country meet. The girls’ varsity team placed seventh in their division. Hannah Terkildsen claimed 22nd place with a time of 22:48.00, Acaiya Schultz came in 27th with 23:04.51 and Hudson Fouberg placed 44th with 27:21.41. The boys’ varsity team placed third in their division. Jeff Boschee earned second place with a time of 17:27.37, Sam Baruth took 16th place with 19:48.44, Carter Hitchcock came in 23rd with 20:38.62 and Cody Slykhuis finished 33rd with 22:51.90.

On Monday, Oct. 3, the SCW cross country team traveled to Howard to participate in their final meet of the regular season. Next week is the SDHSAA Region 3A Meet at Vermillion where the runners will try to qualify for the state meet at the end of the month.
