SCW’s girls had a busy week of play, but they proved they can persevere well. They started with a tough loss on Tuesday, on the road against the Bridgewater-Emery Huskies and a final score of SCW 35, Bridgewater-Emery 45.
The SCW junior varsity ladies dominated their game with a final score of SCW 48, Bridgewater-Emery 20.
On Thursday, Jan. 6, the Blackhawks hosted the Tigers from Howard for a doubleheader. The junior varsity girls started the evening with another win to add to their undefeated record with a final score of SCW 36, Howard 24.
The varsity squad found themselves up against a strong team from Howard, who had received ranking votes earlier in the week.
On Saturday, Jan. 8, the varsity ladies participated in the Redfield Pheasant Classic in Redfield, where they played Northwestern and brought home their fifth win on the season with a final score of SCW 62, Northwestern 42.
The SCW Lady Blackhawks had their next court action on Tuesday, Jan. 11, in Kimball for a doubleheader with the boys against the Kimball/White Lake WiLdKats. They then have their first round of the 281 Conference Tournament on Friday, Jan. 14, in Wolsey against Iroquois/Doland. The tournament continues into next week on Tuesday and Thursday.
