After two weeks of standardized testing, the students in the third and fourth grade classes at Woonsocket Elementary were treated with a “Pizza Party” to celebrate the end of the brutal schedule that comes with testing. But, their teachers worked in a little education with the pizza making by having stations for students to complete with activities all based on pizza. Both classes have finished a unit on fractions, so they did some math activities based on pizza and fractions. They also had stations with pizza-themed reading activities and questions to answer about what they read for comprehension exercises. For the final station, each student was allowed to make their own pizza on pita bread with a selection of toppings to enjoy the end of this year’s standardized testing.
