Ten ladies of “Women of Faith” met at the church on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 6:45 p.m. Pastor Rhonda was present and did a video of the group for the “Ten Days of Prayer” to put on the Facebook page for the Capital Campaign.
President Connie Farris welcomed the members and called the meeting to order. Vickie Hines, vice-chairman, read a devotional from Isaiah about “Waiting on God.” The five steps were: 1.) Serve; 2.) Learn; 3.) LOVE; 4.) Stand; 5.) Be Still.
Sue Larson read the secretary’s minutes from the July meeting. A correction was made stating that Deb Boschee will be the financial officer.
Old Business: Discussed the Fall Supper. A thank you will be printed in the paper for all who attended and worked.
Discussed our Mission projects. Methodist Health Kits will be done once a year before the Bishop’s ingathering. So health items will be collected in August and September. Infant layettes will be an on-going project all year; however, items shall be kept at home until assembly date. School kits will be assembled in late August after collecting items during the summer. Again, keep items at home until the assembly date.
Discussed the successful worship event at Prairie View Healthcare Communtiy every Sunday morning.
New Business: Discussed a date for the Senior Girl’s Tea in the spring. The Methodist Church may be demolished by the third week in April so the group discussed possible other sites to hold the event.
A list of duties for the servers of coffee following worship needs to be made so everyone is aware of what needs to be done. We were urged to keep the kitchen neat (no clutter on the counters and all pans and dishes people have brought should be taken home.)
The next meeting will be Jan. 17, 2018, at the church at 6:45 p.m. The meeting ended at 7:36 p.m., with a call for adjournment from Audrey Kempf, and a second by Mary Ann Hopper.
