The Woonsocket American Legion Post #29 is the thankful recipient of an $800 donation from First National Bank in Woonsocket.

The Legion is committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in the communities it serves, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.  Some of the Legion activities include the annual Memorial Day program, providing Honor Guard and burial ceremonies for funerals, setting out flags at the Courthouse Veteran’s Memorial on patriotic holidays, putting out flags at the cemetery to recognize the graves of military members, providing Color Guard for parades, ballgames and the Veteran’s program, sponsoring lunch for the seniors for their Legislative trip to Pierre, sponsoring attendees to Boy’s State, and serving a Veteran’s Day supper for past and present military members, as well as teachers and staff.
