Dennis Lee Harmon, son of Julian and Ruth (Smith) Harmon, was born April 3, 1930, in Huron. He attended schools in Huron. He joined the U.S. Army and served near the end of World War II.

Dennis owned and operated his own auto body shop for many years. Dennis and Clara loved to dress up in old-fashioned clothing and take road trips in their 1901 Oldsmobile that Dennis built. It was not uncommon to see the couple holding hands wherever they went.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara, on March 7, 2017; his parents, Ruth and Ray Jobbins; his daughter, Ruth Elaine Harmon; grandson, Robert Dean Ganske in 1977; and brothers, Donald and Darrell Harmon.
