MITCHELL — Spens Schlicht, Woonsocket, was one of the six winners to receive the Presidential Leadership Scholarship at DWU.
DWU interviewed 65 high school seniors last month on campus or via Skype for the DWU Scholarship Days, Feb. 1 and Feb. 15. Students with outstanding academic records, leadership potential and a commitment to service were invited to meet with faculty, staff and students, and further investigate the opportunities DWU has to offer in academics and co-curriculars.
To compete for a Presidential Leadership Scholarship, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and a 21/980 ACT/SAT score and must meet certain leadership/service qualifications. The award may reach up to $17,000 and is renewable for up to 10 semesters if the student remains in good standing.
